AK-47 is a sativa-dominant hybrid built from a blend of Colombian, Mexican, Thai, and Afghani landraces. This multi-award-winning cross delivers a potent yet mellow, long-lasting cerebral high.
Four landraces from four continents is an unusual foundation, and it is why AK-47 behaves so consistently. Broad genetic input tends to produce plants that are less fussy about conditions than tightly line-bred hybrids, which is a large part of this strainβs reputation among growers rather than smokers.
Testing around 16-19% THC, AK-47 carries a pungent, earthy, and sweet-floral aroma led by alpha-pinene, caryophyllene, limonene, and linalool.
Worth noting that 16-19% is moderate by current standards, and that is the point. The effect is described as mellow and long-lasting rather than overwhelming, which suits people who want to stay functional. If you are chasing a THC number, look at Cap Junky or Cereal Milk instead.
Growing AK-47
An easy, rewarding grower that flowers in about 8-10 weeks and produces dense, trichome-rich buds indoors or outdoors.
βEasyβ here means specific things: it germinates reliably, it tolerates beginner feeding mistakes better than most, and it performs acceptably in soil, coco or hydro without special handling. It is one of the strains we would put in front of someone on their first or second grow.
The one thing to watch is smell. AK-47 is pungent well before harvest, and the aroma carries. If discretion matters where you grow, plan for carbon filtration rather than discovering the problem in week six.
Dense buds in a humid environment invite mould, so keep airflow moving through the canopy in the back half of flower and do not crowd your plants.
Is AK-47 right for your grow?
Choose it if you want a dependable, forgiving plant with a balanced, daytime-friendly effect, particularly if you are still learning and want a run that works. It is also a sensible choice if you grow outdoors and cannot control conditions tightly.
If you want maximum potency or a dessert flavour profile, this is not that strain, and we would rather point you elsewhere than oversell it.
