Genetics
Our Harlequin line is a CBD-selected cross of Harlequin, Sour Tsunami, Kimbo Kush and Carmen: four cultivars chosen for high CBD expression rather than potency. The result sits at roughly 55% indica and 45% sativa, near enough balanced, with THC held around 6% and CBD in the 20-25% range.
Sour Tsunami in particular is one of the original high-CBD breeding lines, and its presence is why this selection expresses CBD so reliably rather than throwing variable plants.
Effects and Use
Expect a happy, relaxed and clear-headed experience without heavy psychoactivity, well suited to daytime therapeutic use. Appetite stimulation is commonly reported.
At around 6% THC this will not produce a strong high, and that is the entire point of the plant. If you want intoxication, this is the wrong cultivar and we would rather say so.
Growing Harlequin
Harlequin flowers in about 8-10 weeks and produces robust, CBD-rich buds with a citrus, fruity and orange-leaning aroma led by alpha-cedrene, alpha-pinene and terpineol.
Expect around 400-500 g/m2 indoors and 500-550 g/plant outdoors, with plants staying manageable at about 1.5 m (4.9 ft). We rate it easy to grow, which makes it a sensible CBD cultivar for a first attempt.
The compact height is useful if you are working in a tent. The near-balanced indica/sativa split means it neither stretches like a haze nor sits squat like a pure indica.
One practical note for CBD growers: harvest window matters more than usual. Letting it go too long raises THC relative to CBD, which works against the reason you chose the plant.
Who Harlequin suits
Growers who want functional, low-intoxication flower: for daytime use, for making CBD extracts, or for anyone who finds high-THC cultivars uncomfortable. It is also a straightforward grow for beginners.
