Genetics and Origin
LA Confidential is a predominantly indica strain descending from OG LA Affie and an Afghani landrace, here bred with ruderalis for autoflowering. At roughly 80% indica and 20% sativa, it typically tests around 17-21% THC.
The Afghani side is where the resin and the heavy body effect come from; the ruderalis cross is purely practical, trading a little potency for a plant that flowers on its own schedule.
Effects
It offers deeply relaxing, sedative, body-focused effects, ideal for evening, unwind-and-sleep use. The aroma runs citrus, herbal and peppery, led by alpha-cedrene, alpha-pinene and terpineol.
At 80% indica this is squarely an evening plant. If you need to function afterwards, it is the wrong choice and we would rather tell you now.
Growing LA Confidential Auto
A compact, resinous autoflower that finishes roughly 9-10 weeks from seed with dense, frosty buds. Expect around 450-550 g/m2 indoors and 300-450 g/plant outdoors, with plants staying near 1.5 m (4.9 ft).
Those indoor yields are strong for an autoflower, better than most in this catalogue, which together with the short height makes it one of the more productive plants you can fit in a tent.
We rate it easy to grow. As an auto it needs no light-cycle management, but it also cannot be held in veg to recover from a bad start: plant into the final container from the beginning and do not transplant.
It builds real resin density, so keep airflow moving through the canopy in the back half of flower.
